Ozone Therapy: the Wezono medical generator

Wezono (Sedecal) is a portable medical ozone generator, digital and continuously self-calibrating, designed for professional use in hospitals, clinics and medical practices. CE marked, Class IIb under Directive 93/42.

Technology

What Wezono is

Wezono is a compact medical ozone generator that incorporates the latest technological advances, designed for ozone therapy applications where concentrations must be measured accurately and safely, complying with international standards. Despite its rugged build it is lightweight, supplied in a convenient carry backpack, making it easy to transport anywhere — including to the patient's home.

It works immediately after switch-on in all three flow modes: automatic, manual and continuous cycle — the latter essential, for example, in gynaecology or for ozonizing liquids. Thanks to digital technology and the latest generation of sensors, calibration is performed automatically at every switch-on: there is no need to send the unit back to the manufacturer for annual calibration, as required by most models currently on the market.

Wezono is the only device fitted with internal pressure and ambient temperature sensors that automatically recalculate the optimal concentration wherever it is used — in the mountains or by the sea — keeping the error below 10% versus the value shown on screen, as required by international standards. The exclusive automatic overpressure detection function halts delivery in the presence of overpressure or obstructions, for example when a syringe is full or during rectal insufflation.

Compliant with the ISCO3 International Scientific Committee's Madrid Declaration on Ozone Therapy, with any concentration settable according to ISCO3 protocols.

Operating modes
SyringeThe most advanced on the market, with automatic syringe size detection (20/50/100 ml). Ozone output uses a double valve system with automatic pressure compensation to avoid unwanted leaks, ensuring user and patient safety. Indicated for infiltration/insufflation therapy.
Continuous modeVariable flow setting with overpressure detection, ideal for local bag therapies in both open and closed circuit, or for liquids to be ozonized.
Manual modeAllows the user to program concentration and variable flow, activating ozone production and output under direct user control, with volume data and doses supplied during production. Indicated for autohemotherapy and insufflation therapy.
Ozone therapy applications
Local use (bag therapy, ozonized water baths) Subcutaneous, intramuscular, intra-articular infiltration Vaginal, rectal, ear insufflation Major and minor autohemotherapy Ozonization of saline solutions Injections (disc herniation, joints) Topical application (diabetic foot, ulcers)
Most frequent practical indications
Pain managementAnti-inflammatory and analgesic action in low back pain, sciatica and cervicobrachialgia caused by disc herniation or protrusion
Trauma conditionsSpeeds up recovery from joint sprains, contractures, muscle strains, and after fractures or tendon-muscle injuries
Immune systemSupport in acquired immunodeficiencies and autoimmune syndromes (thyroiditis, vasculitis, fibromyalgia, dermatomyositis, Raynaud's, connective tissue disease, lupus erythematosus)
Diabetic footNon-invasive, pain-free therapy: the foot with a diabetic ulcer is placed in a bag filled with ozone to promote healing
Aesthetic medicineBiostimulating action on the skin, counteracts signs of ageing and stimulates collagen production; facial rejuvenation and PRP growth factors
Anti-ageingApplications in geriatrics and anti-ageing, revitalizing effect on body and mind, increased resistance to exertion
Safety systems

Ozone production stops automatically, with a corresponding error message, in the following cases: syringe removed during filling, set concentration not reached, overpressure at the outlet, excessive internal temperature, or abnormal power consumption. The operator can interrupt delivery at any time with the "Cancel" key. The ozone removal circuit, with self-regenerating catalysts, is fully independent from the production circuit.

Scientific background

What ozone is and how it is generated

What ozone is

An unstable oxygen molecule (O3) naturally present in the ozonosphere, produced by sunlight-catalyzed chemical reactions. It has germicidal, anti-inflammatory, fungicidal and antiviral properties, and is one of the most powerful disinfectants known. It cannot be stored: it must be generated shortly before use, since it quickly reverts to oxygen.

How it is generated

Medical-grade oxygen (from a cylinder or centralized supply) is fed into the generator, where a high-voltage system converts O2 into O3. Circuit pressure pumps the O2/O3 mixture to the outlet, in a concentration that can be measured and adjusted according to the application.

Effects on the body

Scientific literature and clinical practice report increased blood circulation, immune system stimulation, anti-inflammatory action and pain relief, alongside the germicidal, fungicidal and antiviral action already mentioned. Medical ozone is considered safe within established therapeutic concentrations; it is toxic if breathed continuously above 0.1 ppm, hence the importance of devices with integrated safety controls such as Wezono.

Frequently asked

What clinics ask us most often

Who is Wezono intended for?
For medical and paramedical staff. It is a Class IIb medical device under Directive 93/42, suitable for use in hospitals, clinics, medical practices and at the patient's home under medical supervision. A veterinary version is also available.
Does it need annual calibration like other ozone generators?
No. Wezono self-calibrates every time it is switched on thanks to internal pressure and ambient temperature sensors, eliminating the costly annual factory recalibration required by most models on the market.
Which operating modes are available?
Three modes: Syringe (automatic loading at 20/50/100 ml at the set concentration), Continuous ozone (for ozonizing liquids and open-circuit bag therapy) and Manual (for insufflation and autohemotherapy, with delivery controlled by holding down a key).
Is it safe to use?
Yes: it features automatic overpressure detection that stops delivery in case of overpressure or obstruction, a self-monitoring system with real-time error messages, and an ozone removal circuit that is fully independent from the production circuit.
How does it differ from the Soft Laser Venoso?
Different technologies: Wezono generates and delivers medical ozone (gas or solution), while the Soft Laser Venoso uses laser light delivered intravenously. Some practices use them in complementary protocols, always subject to the healthcare professional's assessment.

The technical information reported comes from manufacturer Sedecal's documentation and published scientific literature (PubMed extract, Jan 2022). The device is intended for medical and paramedical staff; its use, indications and protocols remain subject to the healthcare professional's assessment and applicable regulations.
